Collaboration and New Frontiers

A couple of organizations to bring to your attention this week:

http://www.syracusecoe.org/

In their own words from the Syracuse CoE website: "The purpose of the Syracuse Center of Excellence in Environmental and Energy Systems is to create jobs and wealth in New York State through collaborations in research, development, and education.

The mission of SyracuseCoE is to create innovations in environmental and energy technologies that improve human health and productivity, security, and sustainability in urban and built environments.

The vision of SyracuseCoE is to earn international recognition for development of knowledge and products in environmental and energy systems for built and urban environments."

There are more than 140 collaborators working with and through the Syracuse CoE to achieve these goals.

The other organization I would like to bring to your attention is:

http://www.santafe.edu/

Again in their own words from the Santa Fe Institute website: "The Santa Fe Institute is devoted to creating a new kind of scientific research community, one emphasizing multi-disciplinary collaboration in pursuit of understanding the common themes that arise in natural, artificial, and social systems"

Good stuff.
